The number of advertised Marketing roles has increased by 10% this Year, with a 4.3% increase in June.
Social Media specific jobs are growing in popularity with demand surging by over 30% in 2019.
There has also been a significant increase in the demand for candidates with expertise in PPC management (including a 45% increase in demand for PPC Executives), whereas the growth in demand for SEO specific skills is only growing at 11%.
Candidate availability within the digital & marketing sector is low with only 6.3% of candidates within the sector actively looking for work.
Marketing professionals are more likely to be seeking work on LinkedIn, with 11% of candidates within the sector marked as “Open to Opportunities” on the leading networking site.
There appears to be a bit more confidence returning to the Digital & Marketing sector with a slight increase in candidate availability over the last few months being viewed.
The demand for candidates with Social Media skills continues to gather pace. The demand for candidates with job titles such as Social Media Executive, Social Media Manager and Head of Search continue to grow in popularity.
There is also a trend for employers looking for Pay Per Click experience over those with SEO skills as they focus their spend on the quicker win of PPC.
We continue to see evidence of wage inflation within the digital & marketing sector which has meant that candidates who have been brave enough to move are securing significant salary increases.
