Job Brief
CV Screen were approached to source a Marketing Assistant by a large Scientific company based in Cambridge.
The role overview was looking for someone with a Scientific background who was looking for a career in Marketing. The candidate would ideally have a Degree in Chemistry!
Recruitment Process
CV Screen posted an advert on the leading job boards which made it clear in the first line that a Degree in Chemistry (or similar Scientific subject) was imperative. The aim was to ensure that we didn’t receive too many applications from candidates without this background, but we still received over 80 applications and only four had a relevant Degree.
We also searched our CV database and LinkedIn to look for Graduates within the last 12 months. During this search, we found the CV of Adam who had a Biochemistry degree and who had also just completed an internship within a marketing role.
About Adam
He would have to relocate to Cambridge but was open to this and felt that the role offered him the perfect opportunity to use his Scientific background within a marketing role.
Adam completed his first interview via Teams, but then travelled over 100 miles to the company HQ for the 2nd stage.
The company had conducted a total of eight interviews for the role, but Adam was a candidate who ticked every box and he was offered the opportunity to begin his career within a fantastic Global organisation.
